Man Utd legend Bryan Robson involved in car crash en route to Everton match
Bryan Robson was involved in a minor car crash while travelling to Old Trafford to watch Manchester United vs Everton on Saturday afternoon.
The Red Devils legend was on his way to the lunchtime kick-off, which United won 2-0, when he was hit from behind by another vehicle on a dual carriageway. Robson's Mercedes S350d suffered damage to the bumper and the boot and officers were called to the scene, but the 66-year-old was unharmed in the incident, which occurred on Princess Parkway.
Robson, who clocked up 470 appearances for United during his illustrious playing career, was seen in good spirits by his car while officers cleared debris from the scene, according to onlookers.
One onlooker told The Sun: “I didn’t see the other vehicle involved but it looks like his car had been clobbered from the behind. There was quite a lot of damage to the Mercedes and a section bumper was hanging off.
“It didn’t look like anyone was injured and Robson was all smiles while talking to the officers. He’s probably been tackled harder from behind during his playing days!”

Robson, who went on to manage various clubs including Sheffield United and Middlesbrough after calling time on a 13-year playing career, was later spotted at Old Trafford stadium for Saturday's crunch Premier League match.

The result means United are currently joint-third in the top-flight standings along with Newcastle, who sit above the Red Devils due to their superior goal difference.
However, the three points came at a heavy price for Manchester United, who saw talisman Marcus Rashford limp off the field in the final minutes with what appeared to be a groin injury.
And Ten Hag, whose side also played against Brentford on Wednesday night, was left raging after the match and took aim at the Premier League over the congested fixture list.
The Dutchman told BT Sport: "We have to wait [on Rashford's injury], it doesn't look good. Once again it's due to the schedule, you can't play three games in six days. We have to protect our players.
"Everyone wants the best players on the pitch, everyone wants to see great entertaining football like today. But you need your best players. It's a win and we have to move on."
