Jurgen Klopp has insisted he won’t be walking away from the challenge of rebuilding Liverpool.

The Kop boss has admitted that only past glories have saved him from becoming the 13th Premier League manager to be sacked this season after seeing the Merseysiders’ top-four hopes vanish.

And now Klopp has eased fans’ fears that he feels that the time is right to end his seven-and-a-half-year Anfield reign by promising his experiences this season will make him an even better manager.

Klopp said: “I never thought I am the best manager in the world - and now I don’t think I am the worst.

“In the long-term these moments make me a better manager, definitely.

“To get the best out of yourself and to improve you need to experience pretty much everything.

“For me and the rest of the coaching staff, this will make us better.

“That hasn’t kicked in yet but we have to do what is right and help the boys to become the best version of themselves again.

“We were there for a long time - and we will be there again. That’s the job I have to do.”

Klopp sent out a defiant message ahead of the visit of Premier League leaders Arsenal after seeing his team thumped by champions Manchester City last weekend.

A goalless draw at Chelsea in midweek was further proof that work will need to be done in the summer transfer market to halt the slide.

And Klopp is ready for the fight.

He said: “I have no problem with re-energising. It is part of the job.

“For a long, long time I worked for a football club that used to lose the majority of their games because they didn’t have a chance.

“If I ever doubted myself after losing games of football, it would have been tricky for me then.

“It’s just a situation we have to get through.

“I know a lot about football and I know a lot about human beings and I know that sometimes you just need time in a world where we’re not given any time.

“But really, my energy is not a problem."
