Paul Cattermole's final weeks making peace with ex Hannah looking to the future
Paul Cattermole was on good terms with ex-girlfriend and bandmate Hannah Spearritt before his tragic passing on Thursday.
The former couple met up earlier this year to 'resolve their issues following years of disputes' and were both said to be looking forward to performing together once again, ahead of their band S Club 7 reuniting for a series of gigs set to begin in October this year.
Paul's death was announced by his family and S Club 7 on Friday, with fans and famous friends flooding social media with tributes and sharing their memories of the late star.
The musician, 46, was found dead in his Dorset home on Thursday - just one day on from the star being snapped looking in good spirits as he enjoyed a walk in the countryside.
In the final images taken prior to his death, Paul was seen wearing a dark jacket, T-shirt and trousers as he enjoyed a stroll outdoors, as well as a pair of trainers and some sunglasses.
S Club 7 enjoy mini reunion at the Brit Awards ahead of band's big announcementHis passing comes just weeks on from S Club 7 announcing their plans to tour once again as a seven-piece to celebrate their 25th anniversary later this year.
It's not yet known if the tour scheduled to begin in October this year will go ahead following Paul’s untimely death.
In a statement issued in February announcing their tour plans, S Club 7 said: "After eight years it feels amazing to announce that we're reuniting and performing together again. We're so excited to bring the S Club Party back to our fans across the country to celebrate 25 years of S Club 7.
"We can't even believe it's been so long! Music and friendship have always been at the core of everything that we've ever done. We hope everyone can join us for one big party!"
Paul was seemingly looking forward to getting back on the stage - recently telling reporters how a tarot card reading hinted the reunion tour was a positive thing.
In 2021, Paul launched a new career as a tarot card reader and set up a YouTube channel where he offered tarot readings providing guidance for the future to fans according to their star signs.
Speaking at a S Club 7 press conference just two months ago, Paul said he consulted with the cards to see what his and his bandmates' future held.
"I saw wheel of fortune - that's good, that's good luck. I genuinely did look at the cards," he said.
He told the MailOnline: "There were other cards as well, ace of clubs - passion, new beginnings, your cup over-runneth with genuinely passionate emotion.
"It's positivity - something to be passionate about."
S Club 7 ‘to announce reunion’ 25 years after 90s pop group’s first singleThe upcoming reunion tour (scheduled to kick off in Liverpool on October 13) would have seen Paul perform alongside his ex of five years Hannah.
Paul's death is believed to have come as a 'massive shock' to Hannah and the mum-of-two is said to 'absolutely devastated' - particularly as she had just rekindled her friendship with her former partner.
The former couple reportedly met up for a coffee in January this year in order to put the past behind them and move forward, following a bitter breakup in 2015.
Hannah, 41, and Paul, 46, dated for five years before splitting in 2006, rekindling their romance for the last time in 2015.
The pair publicly differed on why their relationship didn't work out - with Paul implying Hannah 'prioritised her career' over their romance and Hannah hitting back denying the claims.
But the former couple resolved their issues and put the past behind them after meeting up just months before Paul's sad death.
"They have sorted out their differences and are even on good terms now for the first time since they can remember," a source claimed earlier this year.
"The whole group are doing the reunion tour and it was important for them to move forward so no one felt awkward."
The insider added to the MailOnline how "everyone wants this to be a time for all involved to relive the magic" and create some new memories together.
Following Paul's unexpected death, S Club 7 paid tribute to their bandmate and said there "are no words" to describe their loss.
The statement from the band read: "We are truly devastated by the passing of our brother Paul. There are no words to describe the deep sadness and loss we all feel. We were so lucky to have had him in our lives and are thankful for the amazing memories we have.
"He will be so deeply missed by each and every one of us. We ask that you respect the privacy of his family and of the band at this time."
The Never Had A Dream Come True singer's body was discovered in his home on Thursday, one day prior to the news of his death being made public.
A statement from his family shared on Friday read: "It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved son and brother Paul Cattermole.
"Paul was found yesterday, 6th April 2023 at his home in Dorset and was pronounced dead later that afternoon.
"While the cause of death is currently unknown, Dorset Police has confirmed that there were no suspicious circumstances. Paul’s family, friends and fellow members of S Club request privacy at this time."
