Jorge Masvidal concerned fans by showing off his gun while quoting the gangster film Scarface during a pre-fight vlog ahead of his UFC return.

'Gamebred' will return to the cage having had over a year out of action when he takes on fellow 170lb contender Gilbert Burns at UFC 287 this weekend in his hometown Miami. Masvidal will be looking to have one last hoorah at the top level and spark a world title surge where he could challenge current title-holder Leon Edwards if he is to pick up a win.

Masvidal has had issues outside the cage including being charged by the police with aggravated battery and criminal mischief after an altercation with bitter rival Colby Covington. However this has not stopped him bizarrely showing off his gun collection during an episode of UFC Embedded where viewers were invited in to his home.

He waved the huge weapon around for the viewers to see before pointing it towards the camera while pretending to pull the trigger. He shouted at the camera which drew laughter from his friends, during which he said: "Say hello to my little friend. Usually don't like, you know, showing the pieces off and stuff. But you're in my casa (home), right? My house.

"So we'll show you some of the hardware we keep around there. It's not loaded, no worry. But this is just in case anybody gets personal. Bogota!" The famous line, 'Say hello to my little friend' came from 1983 classic film Scarface in which main character Tony Montana was played by Hollywood actor Al Pacino.

Fans produced a mixed reaction to the news, with one writing: "Hilarious if the fight got cancelled because Jorge got arrested for violating bail conditions." Another pointed out: "First two laws of gun safety right out the window." One joked: "Dollar store scar face."

Masvidal needs to ensure focus is on activities inside the cage if he is to overturn his form after suffering three defeats on the bounce including two against Kamaru Usman. A win could see him finally settle his rivalry with British star Edwards, but a loss could derail his career for good.

And the 38-year-old has admitted that he will seriously consider calling time on his career in the UFC if he is unable to progress beyond Burns on Saturday night. “This could be the last one,” Masvidal said during the UFC 287 Countdown show when boldly conceding fans could see him for the last time in the UFC this weekend.

“If I lose, I’m pretty much calling it quits. But a win against Gilbert (Burns), means that things are heading in the right direction. So, if I roll the dice, and I do everything right, I’m going for it all.”
