Mercedes driver left stuck in road after hitting bollard in 'slowest crash ever'
Footage shows the moment a Mercedes driver found itself stranded on a traffic island in what's been dubbed the "slowest and silliest crash ever".
The driver was caught trying to beat queues after getting stuck in bottleneck near a Morrisons supermarket in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire, Stoke Live reports.
Fed up of sitting in first gear, the driver tried to beat the traffic by turning down another road but instead struck a bollard at no more than 10mph.
Dashcam footage shows the Mercedes then getting marooned on the street furniture, trying desperately to manoeuvre its way out before the frustrated driver gets out the vehicle.
After glancing to assess the damage he reaches into the footwell as a passerby casually walks past.

A nearby driver who captured the footage on his dashcam then moves off, leaving viewers guessing at how long the car was stuck.
A man, who uploaded the video to YouTube, said: "On my way home from work I saw the slowest and silliest car accident ever."
