MLB Opening Day 2023: Live stream, TV Channel and how to watch
The Major League Baseball 2023 season is officially upon us, as the Houston Astros will be looking to defend their World Series title having won their first title since 2017 with a 4-2 win over the Philadelphia Phillies.
Unlike former years, the 2023 season will see all 30 MLB teams take the field on Opening Day, for the first time since 1968. There will also be new rules implemented this year, with larger bases being rolled out along with the introduction of a pitching clock to help tighten up gameplay.
With multiple games starting simultaneously all season, there's plenty of different ways to tune in - whether a baseball binge is on the cards or you want to religiously follow your favourite team. And here Mirror Sport bring you everything you need to know ahead of Opening Day.
What time does Opening Day begin?
Opening Day begins at 6pm UK time on Thursday March 30, with games in New York (Giants at Yankees) and Washington (Braves at Nationals) taking place. Every other MLB team will be competing shortly after, with the final games beginning in the early hours of Friday morning.
How to watch Opening Day via TV and live stream
BT Sport continue to hold the exclusive broadcasting rights in the UK, with no fewer than eight games per week being aired along with every match during the play-offs and the World Series. The BBC also secured a five-year deal with MLB back in 2022, with certain games being streamed live on the BBC iPlayer service.

Fans can also purchase an MLB season pass digitally, with a subscription fee required to access the service.
You can choose annual or monthly payments, while also having the option to just pay for games involving your favourite team.
2023 World Series favourites
There are four main favourites according to the final odds calculations before the season start, with the Astros tipped to defend their crown while attempting to hold off the Dodgers. Close behind are the Yankees and the Mets, who will be looking to bring the World Series back to New York.
Houston are looking to become the first team since the Yankees in 2000 to defend the World Series title.
