A woman found dead in a village close to Lincoln has been named by police after they charged a man with her murder.

The body of Holly Bramley, 26, was discovered in Bassingham during a search by officers on Monday.

Nicholas Metson, 27, is due to appear before Lincoln Magistrates Court later today.

Another 27-year-old man remains in custody, the force have confirmed.

Lincolnshire Police had launched a murder investigation after concerns for Holly's safety were raised at the weekend.

Police divers were involved in the recovery of a body from Bassingham, 12 miles south of Lincoln, yesterday afternoon.

Officers could also be seen searching a garage and bin storage area at the Shuttleworth House high rise flats in Lincoln where it is understood Holly lived.

A Lincolnshire Police spokesperson confirmed: "Following formal identification, we are now in a position to name the victim as 26-year-old Holly Bramley (latterly Metson).

"Family have been made aware and are being supported by specially trained officers.

"We have also charged a 27-year-old man with murder.

"Nicholas Metson, of Shuttleworth House, Lincoln was charged with murder and will appear at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court."

A second man arrested on suspicion of murder, also aged 27, remains in custody.

Detective Chief Inspector Jennifer Lovatt said: “We would like to request that media outlets refrain from contacting Holly’s family at this incredibly difficult time. Specially trained officers are supporting her family and we continue to work diligently to investigate the circumstances of this incident.

“Inquiries are still ongoing, and we would urge anyone who has any information or footage to get in touch, as even the smallest bit of information might prove vital to our investigation.”

A murder investigation was launched on Sunday 26 March following the report of a concern for the welfare of a 26-year-old woman at Shuttleworth House, Lincoln.

Searches were conducted in the Bassingham area relating to the recovery of a body. This is still ongoing and residents will continue to see an increase police presence in the area.

Police are still appealing for anyone in the Bassingham area review their dashcam footage, doorbell footage and CCTV between the hours of 12 noon on Friday, March 24 and 4pm on Saturday, March 25 in case they have captured anything significant.

Officers continue to appeal generally to anyone with information that they believe could assist our investigation.
