'I slept with a man who had a girlfriend - now my best friend won't speak to me'
Relationships can be complicated and people do things they swore they'd never do in the pursuit of love - but cheating is incredibly hurtful. The topic can be really upsetting to those who have been cheated on before and can illicit strong reactions from those surrounding the situation.
Mistakes can be made but one single mum shared how her best friend stopped speaking to her after she slept with a man she knew was in a relationship already.
The mum of three had been single for six years and uninterested in dating - until she met a man in a bar and was swept away.

The pair sat down and chatted for the rest of the evening, hitting it off instantly.

He admitted early on that he had a girlfriend already and Zoe said she "wasn't interested in pursuing anything with him" because of this. However, as she explained it, "the banter was good".
As the night drew to a close, Zoe and the man added each other one Snapchat in order to let him know when she was home safe. She got into her taxi and he leaned in for a kiss and due to the fact she'd "had quite a bit to drink", Zoe kissed him.
The following day, the mum instantly regretted it and "felt awful" knowing he had a girlfriend - but they didn't stop there.
After meeting, they had continuously "exchanged snaps and texts almost every day". Although these have been "mostly quite innocent", some messages have "turned quite flirty when one or both of us has been drinking".
Things ended up escalating after a night out with a male friend during which Zoe sent some Snaps to the man from the bar and he told her to let him know if she needed a lift. She assured him she'd be fine, but promised she'd let him know once she was home safe and sound.

Although she messaged him "straight away", she was surprised to find that the man was "really off" with her, and asked him what was up.
Zoe revealed: "He said he was jealous and thought I had spent the night with the friend I had been out with, I was hungover and in bad form so told him to get lost he was the one in a relationship and it really wasn't anything to do with him even if I had spent the night with my friend".
The next morning, the man texted Zoe "apologising for being a d**k", admitting that, ever since they'd met he hadn't been able to stop thinking about her. Zoe told him that she "was happy on my own but felt the same and wasn't interested whilst he was still in a relationship".
They decided to meet up in person and headed to the beach for a coffee, spending around two hours talking together. Then, Zoe explained, "one thing led to another and we ended up having sex", which she claims "was the best I've ever had".
Zoe recalled: "When he dropped me home the guilt hit and I rang my best friend for advice. She knew I had been talking with him for two months but has always warned me to keep my distance, once a cheater always a cheater.

"When I told her I slept with him she completely lost it and hasn't spoken to me since".
Feeling "so confused" about the situation, Zoe confessed to her fellow Netmums users that she doesn't want a relationship with him but "can't get him out of my head", and now fears she may "have lost my best friend over a moment of selfishness".
One commenter advised her "to give your friend time" and to "apologise and block on him on everything if you really don’t want to end up in a mess", while another urged her to "speak to your friend, show her you know you’ve done wrong, etc and forget this man".
A third person wrote: "You say this has boosted your self-confidence. When his girlfriend finds out, she's going to lose hers. Are you willing to lose a friend over him?
"He's cheated on the woman he loves with you so he's not trustworthy. How long until he cheats on you?"
