Dad spots vehicle wrapped in cling film in car park before Aldi worker explains

A stunned dad has described the bizarre moment he came across a car completely wrapped in cling film while on a shopping trip.

Paul Hart said he “couldn’t believe his eyes” when he saw the vehicle in an Aldi car park while out shopping with his son .

Baffled Paul was forced to do a double take and posted photos of the parked car on Facebook asking what could have happened.

Speculation ran rife, with some commenters thinking it was an early April Fools joke - but an Aldi staff member from the St Helens store soon provided the real answer, the Liverpool Echo reports.

"I was just waiting with my son in the car and as I looked in the rearview mirror to check on him. I was shocked to see the car completely wrapped up in cling film. I genuinely had to look twice, I couldn't believe it," Paul said.

"It was just so random to see a vehicle in the middle of a busy car park just sat there wrapped like it was. So bizarre."

Paul shared a picture of the wrapped car to Facebook in the hopes of an explanation. With some speculating the move could have been an early April Fools prank.

One person said: "April fools prank? So foolish they didn't look at the date?"

However, it appears the cling film wrapping is a tradition for departing members of staff at the supermarket. The owner of the car shared a Facebook post of their own, along with an image of the car.

The caption reads: "Going to miss working with this bunch, it has been a pleasure working with you all. Thanks for putting up with me."

Meanwhile an American prankster has shocked his parents after covering their entire kitchen in peanut butter - including on their appliances, worktops and cabinets.

TikTok user Corbin Millet used up 28lbs of peanut butter to pull off the prank, painstakingly applying it to every kitchen surface for seven hours.
