This week sees the start of the European Championship qualifying rounds with England tipped as one of the early favourites to win the competition for the first time in the nation's history. The Three Lions were one-step away from glory in 2021 before losing to Roberto Mancini's Italy in the final.

Unlike the last tournament, the upcoming one next summer will be held in just one country with Germany hosting the competition for the third time and as a result will not be part of the qualification stage and are established as the bookies early favourites at 5/1 with Betfred. Head coach Hansi Flick will be keen to bring some glory to by securing the European title for the first time since 1996.

For England, the goal has been set to win the competition and go one better after losing out to Italy back in 2021. Penalties, once again, broke the hearts of many Three Lions fans which included thousands at Wembley Stadium where the final was being held. Gareth Southgate will be keen to take his England side to Germany and return with the European Championship trophy.
