The only thing better than finally tucking into your favourite meal is knowing you got it at a discounted price.

One McDonald's fan says she never pays full price when she goes to the fast food restaurant, and has shared her secret on TikTok, where it has been seen by more than 206,000 people.

A woman called Caroline, who calls herself 'The Thrifter' often shares tops on how to get bargains with her 19.9k followers on the video sharing app.

In her latest video, she shared several ways she gets cheap McDonald's. She explained: "You never need to pay full price for a McDonald's ever again and I'm going to tell you now.

"I have two things which mean I do not need to pay full price for a McDonald's ever again."

The first thing you need is your McDonald's receipt. Many might not know that at the bottom of the receipt there is a code and a website address.

Caroline explained: "Go to the website address, input the code and they will send you a voucher for a cheaper meal next time you go."

Another way to get money off is by giving the fast food chain feedback – whether that be positive or negative. Caroline said: "You can fill in the form which is on that website address and you can get a McDonald's for free."

She continued: "The next thing that can get you a McDonald's cheaper is using their app."

Speaking about how she used this method herself, Caroline explained that she had got herself an Egg and Cheese McMuffin that very same morning. Because she had a coupon which was on the app, she got it for 15% less.

She added: "So if you haven't downloaded the app, download it because there are always offers on there, and you build up points as well. That means that you can get things cheaper consistently. Every penny counts and if you can save money, why not."

Social media users were really thankful for the "great tips" and couldn't believe they didn't know about it earlier.
