British dad dies after falling from balcony on first ever holiday abroad
A British dad-of-two died just hours after excitedly calling his family during his first holiday abroad in Spain.
Dion, who was holidaying with his girlfriend Leanne, was said to be over-the-moon about his first holiday in the European country, having missed out on a trip there a year prior because his passport didn't arrive in time.
Less than 24 hours before his tragic death, he had spoken to his dad to share "how wonderfully warm it was".
Before the end of the day, Dion had fallen from a balcony and died as a result of his injuries.
In the days since, his friends have paid tribute to an "absolutely sound and amazing bloke".

The GoFundMe reads: "The family have since discovered that, due to an oversight, there wasn't any travel insurance in place. This means that bringing Dion home has been made extremely difficult.
"Dion had settled into a wonderful life with Leanne and her two girls, and loved spending as much time as he could with his two adorable children.
"They had some great times on their visits and are really going to miss their Dad."
Dion is not the first Brit to die tragically as a result of a balcony fall while on holiday.

The man was 33 and was staying at the hotel with a family member, it is understood.
Reports suggest the man might have been trying to balance on the rails of the hotel and slipped, before falling almost 50ft.
A few months later in September, a young Brit met the same fate on the party island of Ibiza.
