Chilling images show inside an abandoned roadhouse due to be demolished by the current owners scared of it being haunted by the previous owners who killed themselves within its sinister walls.

A roadhouse is a small service station in the US and Canada built to host travellers by providing food, drinks, fuel and accommodation. They were also known in the 1900s as stagecoach houses and were a place to rest and feed the horses for the night on long journeys.

According to locals this place is nicknamed the Devils Roadhouse located in Nova Scotia, Canada was built in 1912 and acted as an Inn for many years.

As well as providing food and beds, this stagecoach acted as an overflow for the local funeral home, with a death room for people to pass away inside, as-well-as a birthing room for delivering babies.

It is rumoured by locals that two people died in the same bathroom, both suffering fatal heart attacks.

It was sold years later to a family, before passing to the eldest son. The unnamed son turned the building into his family home where he lived happily with his wife. Upon his wife contracting a rare type of cancer, she shot herself.

The man became a recluse, isolating himself in a trailer in the garden whilst renting out the home, refusing to enter the home. Not long after his move, the man committed suicide in his trailer. The family who moved in only stayed six months, with rumours circulating that they were chased out by ghosts and paranormal activity.

The current owner of the home dares not enter after dark due to paranormal activity in the home and does not reside there due to the decay of the building.

Several paranormal investigators have entered the home and discovered what they believe is evidence of paranormal activity, including silhouettes of ghosts, moving objects and strange noises.

There were also the handprints of a child about six feet up the wall, adding to the horror. Video footage from the photographers exploration of the house shows scratches on the walls, moving objects and strange noises.

These images were taken by urban explorer and paranormal investigator Chelsey Lacelle in Nova Scotia, Canada using a Canon R camera.

"I started by walking around the property getting a feel for the place and then I went to take my photos, spending time in each room," said Chelsey.

"This home was so beautifully unique but had such a strong heavy presence.

"The husband had a really hard time with his wife's death and his mental health started to decline. Neighbours and friends stopped hearing from him.

"The owner is not able to live in the house due to the damage and decay of the building, but he says that he does not go in the house after dark due to the paranormal activity.

"The owner is planning on tearing it down because it's too far gone to repair and he doesn't ever go in at night time.

"I love shots and locations like this because there is still so much beauty and history in these places that a lot of people don't know about.

"I love being able to capture shots like these, being present in these moments is amazing."
