The Chase fans were distracted on Sunday evening as the ITV game show aired a celebrity special of the programme.

Host Bradley Walsh was joined by Jayde Adams, Tony Cottee, Naughty Boy and The Vivienne as they battled with the ruthless Chasers in the hopes of winning cash for charity.

The stars faced off with Paul Sinha, known to fans as The Sinnerman, and Jayde quickly succumbed to the quizmaster’s cunning.

Tony managed to bring back some cash for the pot before music producer and former I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here star Naughty Boy was in the hot seat.

Yet as he went up against The Sinnerman, The Chase viewers at home were distracted by how close to the wire he was answering each of the questions, given there is a time limit in which he can press the button to pick his answer.

Host Bradley seemed to be similarly put off by Naughty Boy’s slower approach, as he repeatedly urged the music producer to ‘Press it! Press it! Press it!’ as the clock ran down.

Taking to Twitter, one fan wrote: “I don't think I've ever met someone as slow at answering questions as naughty boy, does he not know how the chase works?”

Another chimed: “Is Naughty Boy this slow or is he taking the p***?”

A third wrote: “Getting stressed out watching Naughty Boy, he thinks he’s got all the time in the world to answer…”

Another demanded: “IS HE DOING IT ON PURPOSE????????” as another wrote: “Ffs he’s stood there in a trance.”

It comes after The Chase’s Anne Hegerty paid a special tribute to her co-star on the hit ITV game show Bradley Walsh, calling him ‘legendary’.

The 64-year-old quizmaster, known as The Governess to fans of the ITV show, has become an integral part of the fold since joining the afternoon hit in 2010.

Anne has now spoken about her favourite component of the show, after years in The Chase hot seat going head to head with hopeful members of the public to fight their general knowledge prowess.

Anne said her favourite thing about the show has been working alongside Jack of all trades star Bradley.

“He is just this legendary presenter, and he is just such a nice guy, all the Chasers have such a nice rapport with him.”

She added: "But also the fact that it is a job that I can do. It is sort of tailor-made for me and I can earn a decent living just by doing a few hours of work every day, which is brilliant.

“So it suits me down to a tea. I always say, any time that I am filming for The Chase, the actual filming for the chase is the easy part of my day and everything else is more difficult so yeah, I absolutely love it.”
