Restaurant unveils unusual fish and chip pizza - complete with battered scraps
Making the choice between a chippy tea or pizza is one of the ultimate Friday night dinner dilemmas, with both dishes being so very satisfying in such deliciously different ways. For the next two weeks, however, London residents will be able to combine their two favourite takeaways in one creative yet rather bizarre-sounding meal.
In celebration of National Pizza Day (February 9), trendy pizza chain Homeslice has joined forces with award-winning chip shop The Mayfair Chippy to rustle up a fish 'n' chip pizza with all the iconic trimmings.
Layered upon one of Homeslice's 20-inch pizza bases, toppings include salt and vinegar cured cod, pea puree, crispy chips, capers, and even a generous handful of batter scraps.
For those relived to have finally kissed Dry January goodbye, Homeslice is also offering a free Mojito from canned cocktails brand Moth with every order of fish 'n' chip pizza.
The pizza itself costs £30, which works out fairly reasonably when you consider each pie will feed around two to three people, depending of course on how hungry you are.

Mark Wogan, founder of Homeslice, said: "We at Homeslice thought what better way to celebrate National Pizza Day than by celebrating one of our great national dishes with our friends from The Mayfair Chippy. Fish and Chips on a pizza, if you don't believe us just come and try it!"
If this unusual topping tickles your fancy, then you'll need to head down to Homeslice Marylebone within the next fortnight to avoid disappointment.
You can treat yourself to The Homeslice x Mayfair Chippy fish ’n’ chip pizza at Homeslice Marylebone (50 James St, W1U 1HB) from Thursday, February 9 for two weeks.
