'Gary Glitter has moved next door. I'm fuming, I've told the kids what to say'
Gary Glitter's new neighbours have said they're concerned about their kids' safety after the convicted paedophile moved into their area.
The disgraced singer, 78, is currently in a bail hostel in Hampshire having served just half of his 16-year sentence for child abuse.
Glitter was released from prison in Dorset on Friday and must comply with strict licence conditions, including staying away from schools, swimming pools and playgrounds.
However, his bail hostel is surrounded by as many as 10 schools and now a concerned parent in the area has spoken out about their concerns.
Jonathan Wilson said: "Our children play in the woods which back onto their property, and we had to tell our kids like, don’t talk to them, don’t go near anyone there.

"Personally, I don’t like those sort of people full stop, the fact they’re slap bang in the middle of where we live. Talk about taking the p*** out of society.

Jonathan said people in the area were "pretty emotional" when Glitter arrived, saying residents don't want the singer anywhere near them - suggesting the paedophile be moved "into a field".
The father's comments come after another angry parent marched his six-year-old daughter to the gates of Glitter ’s bail hostel demanding staff explain why they are protecting a sex offender.

The construction worker, who told reporters his name was David Jones, 46, said hostel staff asked him to leave the private property, adding they had called the police after he rang the buzzer at the halfway house.
He told The Mirror: “There’s schools all around.
“I’m just appalled at what’s going on. That’s what my tax pounds are going on? To protect someone like this?

David's visit comes after officers were called to stop vigilantes attempting to scale gates at the hostel on Saturday.

Glitter, whose real name is Paul Gadd, is thought to have been holed up at the site in the south of England since his release from HMP Verne in Portland, Dorset, in the early hours of Friday morning.
The police and the MOJ have been approached by the Mirror for comment.
