The Chase’s Anne Hegerty paid a special tribute to her co-star on the hit ITV game show Bradley Walsh, calling him ‘legendary’.

The 64-year-old quizmaster, known as The Governess to fans of the ITV show, has become an integral part of the fold since joining the afternoon hit in 2010.

Anne has now spoken about her favourite component of the show, after years in The Chase hot seat going head to head with hopeful members of the public to fight their general knowledge prowess.

Anne said her favourite thing about the show has been working alongside Jack of all trades star Bradley.

“He is just this legendary presenter, and he is just such a nice guy, all the Chasers have such a nice rapport with him.”

She added: "But also the fact that it is a job that I can do. It is sort of tailor-made for me and I can earn a decent living just by doing a few hours of work every day, which is brilliant.

“So it suits me down to a tea. I always say, any time that I am filming for The Chase, the actual filming for the chase is the easy part of my day and everything else is more difficult so yeah, I absolutely love it.”

Co-star Darragh Ennis, who joined the show in 2020 also had high praises for the presenting star, as he said: "Oh it is so much fun!

"You know when you were in school and there was the kid that your mother told you not to sit beside, that was Brad, as a grown-up, he is like a giant child.

"He is just so much fun, I know there are some people on TV who have the character they adopt, but that is not him at all.

"He is that person and he is just having a laugh and it is so much easier to work with someone like that, I love having a laugh and making fun of each other."

Since her rise to popularity with members of the public, Anne has gone on to take part in shows such as I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!, DNA Journey and Cooking with the Stars.

She recently admitted that she would love to follow in the footsteps of Bradley, who starred in Coronation Street and The Larkins, and show off her acting skills.
