Ferne McCann has announced she is taking on a new career challenge just days after she issued a grovelling apology for a series of leaked voice notes.

The former TOWIE star broke down in tears while speaking to Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield on Wednesday about the voice notes, in which she supposedly made a series of comments about her former best pals Sam and Billie Faiers, allegedly calling Sam a "fat c***".

In other alleged voice notes, Ferne appeared to call mum-of-three Sam a narcissistic b***h', while in another Ferne was accused of hitting out at Billie for giving her son the same name as her jailed ex Arthur.

The anonymous account sharing the alleged voice notes also claimed Ferne made comments about her ex Arthur's acid attack victim Sophie Hall.

Putting all of that behind her, Ferne announced her "exciting" news to fans on Instagram.

The TV personality, 32, said: "I have been quite open about how I have been doing therapy and working on myself for about five years now and that has gone really well.

"But now I have been working with [life coach] Lydia Kimmerling to become a certified life coach.

"Guys I feel it, I just know that I have something to share particularly with women, where I know through my experiences I can help so many people."

Ferne continued: "I really needed to go on a journey of self discovery myself, and that's the work that me and Lydia have been working on.

"I've needed to dig deep, I've needed to really get to know myself fully before I can start helping others. So I'm really excited, I'm loving the work.

"It's mad like learning a new skill, I feel like I haven't done that as an adult in a very long time."

Speaking on This Morning earlier this week, Ferne apologised, explaining she was in a vulnerable situation when she sent them five years ago.

The Met Police have confirmed a woman in her thirties was interviewed under caution in January over the incident, and their enquiries are on-going. The case moved from Essex Police to the Met in December.

"It definitely wasn't my finest hour, and it definitely was a very difficult time in my life when those voice notes were leaked," she admitted to Holly and Phil.

"I do need to take this opportunity to publicly apologise again to those affected. Obviously the words that I used were unpleasant and I have reached out privately to those people."

Ferne continued: "It's very difficult because I would love to sit here with you guys and my followers to share exactly what went on. But it's now part of a criminal investigation so I can't do that.

"But what I can say, these voice notes were from a time when I was in a very vulnerable situation and a very difficult situation for me five to six years ago.

"Since then, I have done a lot of work on myself, I have been in therapy for six years and I feel that I am a different person.

"Even though I can't share my full truth and I know how frustrating that is for people listening, I know that one day I will get that chance to fully be able to hopefully sit with you guys on the sofa and be 100% transparent."

The Mirror contacted Ferne's rep for comment.
