Paris Hilton made a surprise appearance as she joined the picket line in London this morning alongside striking journalists.

The American media personality was seen with striking BBC staff outside their headquarters as part of a 24-hour walkout.

Journalists covering radio, TV and online news took part in a strike to protest against plans to cut local radio and were met with a very unexpected guest.

Hilton, 42, was at the BBC studios having just appeared on Radio 4's Women's Hour to promote her new book Paris: The Memoir.

As she left her interview, the model and actress was seen talking to strikers on the National Union of Journalists (NUJ) picket line.

The new mum was offered a flag by a woman and the NUJ responded on Twitter saying: "We can send you a flag to help you show solidarity."

Paris was snapped with strikers, with one person taking to social media calling her "Comrade Paris Hilton".

One person commented: "Paris Hilton joining the strikes wasn't on my 2023 Bingo card."

"The stars aren’t blind to workers rights," said another.

The star was wearing a long navy velvet dress and carried her new book in her hand.

Her iconic blonde locks were worn with loose waves.

Paris also stopped to sign autographs for fans waiting outside the studio.

The hotel heiress stunned fans in January when she announced the birth of her first child with her husband Carter Reum.

The couple welcomed baby boy, Phoenix Barron Hilton Reum via surrogacy.

Paris has revealed her plans for a second child after she successfully froze 20 embryos during the Covid-19 lockdown, but has decided to try again after finding out they were all boys.

"I just went through the process again a month ago, so I'm waiting for the results to see if there's any girls," she told Glamour magazine.

Paris wants to name a future daughter London and is hoping to have a theme of naming her children after different cities.

The star first opened up about her IVF journey in January 2021, revealing that she and Carter had started the 'tough' process in a bid to ensure that she could have twins - a girl and a boy.
