Vowing to show a 'rock solid and perfect way to boil an egg', he encouraged people to opt for the 'same-sized egg' every time.

Noting the wide variety of eggs that are available in the supermarket, Jamie advises people to opt for a large, free-range, and organic egg.

He explained: "If you want to cook the perfect boiled egg every time, you need the same sized egg."

"We have a pan of boiling water - in that pan, I'm going to add a tiny, tiny, tiny pinch of salt," he added.

"[The egg] goes in a slotted spoon, pop it in the water, and just dip the egg in and our two or three times - then gently place it on the bottom of the pan."

To achieve a soft-boiled egg, he advises: "It's five and half minutes on the head. Set your timer and get ready to go."

"For semi-soft-boiled, it's seven and half minutes, and for hard-boiled - it's 11-12 minutes."

To finish, make sure that you remove the egg the right way once it's completed boiling. Specifically, Jamie advises people to go for the 'blunter side up'.

And that's it - it's as simple as that. Ready to eat, the faster the better!
