Nando's has upped the price of one of its much-loved menu items - and fans will be left disappointed.

The peri-peri chicken restaurant chain increased the price of its bottomless soft drinks by 10p at the beginning of March.

The change has seen the price of a bottomless Coke Zero, Diet Coke, Fanta Zero and Sprite Zero go from £3.40 to £3.50.

The chicken chain's bottomless Coca-Cola is now priced at £3.70, up from £3.60 before.

The price increases as only affected its bottomless drink options and its other soft drink options including cans, orange juice and cordial have stayed the same price.

Like many other companies, Nando's said that it "worked hard" to absorb the current rising costs.

A Nando’s spokesperson told The Sun: “We continue to work hard to absorb costs wherever we can and are committed to delivering the best value possible for customers.

"Our bottomless soft drinks have increased by 10p, however, our canned drinks remain the same price.”

In January the chain made headlines after increasing the price of some of its menu items by 16%.

Nando's blamed the price hikes on an increase in the cost of ingredients and running their restaurants

In January 2022 the price of the quarter chicken was £4.25, or £8.75 with two sides.

However, those prices jumped to £4.95 and £9.95 in January of this year.

The half chicken dish was £7.95 or £12.45 with two sides a in 2022 – but now costs £8.50 on its own or £13.50 with extras

Ten chicken wings also increased from £10.95 to £11.75 on their own or from £15.45 to £16.75 with two sides, while the whole chicken dish rose from £14.50 to £14.95.

Delivery prices were also hiked with a full chicken platter to eat at home rising from £24.95 to £27.75.

At the time, Nando's told the Daily Mirror that some prices remained the same while others “had to change” due to higher costs.

The price of food has increased significantly since Russia's invasion of Ukraine and at the moment food inflation in the UK sits at 17.6%.

This has forced restaurants and cafes to up their prices to cover the extra costs.

Mirror Money has approached Nando's for comment.
