Ketchup fan says we've been opening bottles wrong - but some aren't convinced
Have you ever bought a new bottle of ketchup, only to find that when you take hold of the pull tab to open the seal, it completely breaks off without opening the bottle?
It's a frustrating situation many of us have faced in the past, but according to one woman, there's an easy way to avoid any struggles with the seal - as you can actually use the bottle's lid to open it.
According to the woman, whose name is Jasmin, the top of a bottle of Heinz Ketchup contains a cut-out piece of plastic that when shut, helps to keep the spout firmly sealed.
But the plastic has a second use, according to Jasmin. She said you can use it to punch a hole in the seal of the bottle - meaning you don't need to spend time removing it at all.
Jasmin shared the hack in a video posted to her @jacquelinien account on TikTok, where it garnered more than 23million views and left many social media users amazed.

While another added: "Really!! I've been opening this the wrong way all along."
Some were less convinced by Jasmin's hack though, as they questioned the shape of the hole left when she lifted up the lid, and accused her of cutting the video to make it look like the lid had done the work when she'd actually used a knife.
One person said: "Nice cut away."
As someone else stated: "They clearly used a knife to cut it."
And a third wrote: "THE HOLE'S NOT EVEN THE SAME SHAPE AS PART OF THE LID. I am very angry."
Even Heinz themselves waded into the debate, as they said they had no idea their bottle lids were capable of cutting the seal - although they didn't confirm or deny if the hack was real.
They said: "Time to act like we knew our ketchup bottles did this."
Meanwhile, another woman recently claimed we've all been opening sauce packets from McDonald's the wrong way - after she blew people's minds with her hack that allows for an effortless pour every time.
The woman revealed she takes a small knife and pierces a hole at the bottom of the container, which when squeezed, meant the sauce could pour out as though she was using a bottle.
