Sadio Mane admits Julian Naglesmann is a "calmer" influence than Jurgen Klopp but both men see football similarly.

The Senegal star bought the curtain down on his Liverpool spell back in the summer and opted for a switch to Bayern Munich. Mane had excelled under Klopp's coaching following his move from Southampton in 2016, playing his role in an immensely successful team.

Mane is now experiencing a different type of coaching for the first time in six years as he works with Nagelsmann in Bavaria. The coach has long been hailed as one of the best young tacticians in Europe and was handed the reigns at Bayern when he was just 33.

In his second summer he added Mane to his ranks with the forward casting his eye over their contrasting styles as he told DAZN : “Klopp is Klopp. He’s a mix of the old and the new generation. He’s got so much experience and his life is all about football, but he’s also demanding. Sometimes, very, very, very, very much so. He is very emotional and sometimes shouts. Almost ready to fight.

“(Nagelsmann) is rather calmer. In terms of football, I don’t see any major differences. They like types of players who press high, because their teams are high. It’s easier for me because I’ve almost only had German coaches in my career.”

The Bayern boss is looking to continue his side's dominance over the past decade and was a major force in Mane's decision to quit Anfield and move to the Allianz Arena.

He said previously: “The coach was one of the biggest supporters of my transfer. He texted me very, very often. A good relationship with the players is important to Julian. Julian has an incredible energy level and does everything for success. I love his hunger and desire for success. He has the quality to manage big teams.”

Klopp, who has come up against Naglesmann previously, has said on his compatriot: “He’s a big, big coaching talent. We don’t know each other very well but I’ve followed his way because I like good football."

Nagelsmann's Bayern side are looking to advance to the last eight of the Champions League when they host PSG. The Germans were good value for their 1-0 win in Paris several weeks ago as they look to progress. Mane has currently scored 11 times in 25 outings.

Liverpool have struggled following his departure with the Reds bringing in Darwin Nunez for a club-record fee as his replacement. The Uruguayan is beginning to hit form after a difficult start to life, although the Merseysiders are set to finish the season trophyless unless they can overcome a 5-2 first-leg defeat to Real Madrid.
