Coronation Street's 'most hated character' hints at return for Chesney's wedding
Chesney Brown's wedding looks set to be even more chaotic than expected following hints it could come with the visit of one of Coronation Street 's most hated characters.
Gemma Winter (Dolly Rose-Campbell) will be marrying fiance Chesney (Sam Aston) in upcoming scenes as the parents look to cement their union after welcoming quadruplets in 2019.
The cash-strapped couple have been looking at ways to have a small, intimate ceremony to keep costs down but the arrival of a "hated" character could spoil things.
Cilla Battersby-Brown star Wendi Peters has teased a return to the cobbles in time for the dad-of-five's wedding to Gemma.
The notorious character was last seen in Weatherfield in 2014 during a short stint as Cilla tried to build bridges with her family.

"I heard Chesney's getting married but I don't think anybody's told his mother," Wendi commented.
Addressing her possible return, the actress revealed she could envisage hilarious scenes between Cilla and Maureen Lipman (Evelyn Plummer) and Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove).
"I think it would be funny if Cilla met Evelyn and Bernie. Maureen Lipman is a comic genius, and Jane Hazlegrove is a brilliant actress," Wendi said.

Wendi's Cilla was previously named the most hated person in soap beating a host of baddies from EastEnders, Coronation Street and Emmerdale.
Cilla beat off competition from Walford rapist Trevor Morgan and Weatherfield serial killer Richard Hillman.

Cilla's earned her villainous title with her evil antics on the cobbles including abandoning her daughter Fiz and cruel treatment of Chesney.
Coronation Street star Wendi spoke out on playing Cilla on Morning Live in November.

Coronation Street's Cilla married Les Battersby in 2005 (ITV)"She was great fun to play," she said. "I loved going into my dressing room every morning and seeing what they'd put me in costume-wise!
"But I also really liked the evil side of her. When I first came in, she took Rita to court and was really, really nasty. Then she found a light-hearted side and she just had a load of fun.
"It enabled me to do some lovely comedy things as well."
Wendi has swapped Coronation Street for BBC soap Doctors and will play Dr Nina Bulsara.
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
