A woman has been urged to cancel a date and block the number of a man who sent her screenshots of an awful conversation he had with a friend about her.

She had been talking to the man a lot and was due to be meeting him for a date soon but was horrified when she saw the messages between him and a friend which contained a very unusual request.

In the screenshots, he sends his friend a picture of the woman from her social media, but his friend replies with an insult about her appearance. He then asks the man to get a picture of her teeth.

Taking to Mumsnet, she said it breached her privacy by getting her photo off social media and he had a total disregard for boundaries.

The woman, who remained anonymous, wrote: "We have a date set up for next week. He has taken a picture of me from my social media and sent it to this random bloke (random to me at least, it's his friend) saying this is the pretty woman I'm taking out next week.

"The friend replies 'she ain't pretty' and asks him to send a picture of me without a filter on. There's no filter on the picture in the first place. He then asks him to show him a picture of my teeth!"

She added that her date then screenshotted the conversation and sent it to her in a bid to get a picture of her teeth for his friend.

"What that says to me is that he has a total disregard for boundaries, my privacy, and decency in general," she wrote.

"I know I'm not being unreasonable for cancelling a date for whatever reason I see fit but do you see this the way I see it or am I being over the top due to embarrassment?"

In response, many sided with her and agreed it was a horrible thing to do and she should not be dating him.

One person wrote: "Block and run. He's not a contender."

While another stated: "That's awful! I can’t believe he did it and then shared the exchange with you saying you weren't pretty!"

A third penned: "Cancel the date (and tell him why) and then block him."
