Man baffled over Airbnb's 'excessive' list of rules plastered all over property

An Airbnb has been branded 'excessive' over its list of rules which were scattered on laminate notes around the apartment.

The long list of rules included no use of body sprays or oils in the apartment, and the hot water switches off after a specific time.

A guest at the property has taken to TikTok to share a glimpse of what this Airbnb was like and many of these rules appear pretty over the top.

The TikTok account @AirbnbHorrorStory shares clips from all different people who have sent in their experiences of odd Airbnb's or bizarre owners, and this one has left many in the comments in shock.

In the clip, which has been seen by nearly 60,000 people, the guest is seen walking around the apartment and using his phone to capture all of the rules which appear to be written on laminated pieces of paper.

The caption over the clip reads: "Signs everywhere."

In the video, you can hear the man saying: "This is excessive. Look at these details. Anywhere you literally go there is a sign. What is this?"

He goes over to a few of the notes, one of which reads: "Please do not spray/apply perfume, cologne or body oils inside studio. Please apply outside."

Another of the signs, this time on the shower door states: "Please help to conserve water. Hot water shuts off after eight minutes."

Not all of the rules were so unreasonable as one of the cards on the shelf reads: "No smoking, no vaping."

But another over the toilet was not something you usually see in an Airbnb as it said: "To avoid the growth of mould, please leave shower door open after showering."

In response, many have agreed the rules seem pretty harsh.

One person joked: "Bed collapses after seven and a half hours of sleep. Please do not excessively rest."

While another added: "They act like they are doing us a favour by letting us stay. Like we aren't paying."

A third penned: "If they are going to be so picky, why an an Airbnb."

Somebody else quipped: "Don't wear your feet in the house."

Another suggested these rules should have been clear before booking.

"These rules need to be listed on their website," they wrote.
