Man slammed as 'sexist' for refusing to let a woman spot him in the gym
A man has been branded sexist after ripping into a woman who offered to spot him in the gym.
He was just about to start lifting heavy weights and asked around to see if anybody could watch him in case he needed help, which is often called 'spotting.'
But he was not happy after one woman approached him and offered to help as he told her he wasn't trying "to die today" so declined her offer.
However, the man has faced a raft of negative feedback after sharing the story on an online forum and some have agreed with the woman that his actions were sexist.

In the post, the man, who remained anonymous, wrote: "There wasn't really anybody I know for real when I was up there so when I needed a spot I just called out to no one in particular asking for a spot.
"The first person to say something is this girl who I knew would be no help. Not a beat after she finishes saying that she can spot me I say I'm not trying to die today."
When the woman looked offended, he asked her if she could lift weights as heavy as him and when she did not reply straight away, he said: "that's what I thought" so he opted to get somebody else to help.
"When I'm walking about trying to get to my car to go home; she comes up to me and starts saying about how I was sexist and all that," he wrote.
"That I was disrespectful just because she was a girl and I should apologise for being misogynistic. That's not true at all, I just knew she wouldn't be able to do anything if I were to fail the rep. When I'm doing a hard workout I do tend to be short with people so maybe I could've been a little more polite but I don't think I did anything wrong."
In response, many felt he was unreasonable and he should not have acted in that way.
One person wrote: "A simple 'no thank you' would have sufficed but you had to be rude. Your comment was most likely rooted in sexism."
While another stated: "The refusal wasn’t wrong but the extra commentary was."
