Millie Mackintosh says being sober has 'changed her life' as she hits milestone
Made in Chelsea star Millie Mackintosh says cutting out alcohol has been "life changing" as she marks six months sober. The 33 year old says the decision has been "one of the best" for her herself and mental health.
The mum of two says she want other people to "experience how great it feels" to be alcohol free. Millie, who is married to Made in Chelsea co-star Hugo Taylor, has shared her journey on social media.
The TV personality told her 1.4 million followers about her experience being sober. Posting from the ski slopes, Millie wrote: "It’s been 6 months since I decided to cut alcohol out of my life and it’s been one of the best decisions that I’ve made for myself and my mental health.
"Honestly it’s life changing and I know I keep going on about it, but it’s because I want other people who are tempted to quit to experience how great it feels!"
She added: "At the start of this journey there were times that I felt seriously awkward, especially in social situations, but with each month that goes by I feel much more comfortable with my decision and with myself and now it’s just my new norm.

Life happens and I know that there will still be ups and downs, but I feel really positive with the lifestyle changes that I’ve made and I’m focused on removing anything that triggers or negatively affects my mental health."
Millie joked that she is now "that person who shows up at a party with my own drinks!" The reality star says she gets messages everyday from fans wanting to know more since going sober.
She received hundreds of supportive messages from fans for opening up on the topic. One wrote: "Well done, you are a great mama too!"
Another added: "That’s amazing wouldn’t it be great to help it become the social norm…"
Millie and husband Hugo share daughters Sienna, two, and Aurelia, 15 months. She has spoken candidly about becoming a mum and shared her experiences with her online followers.
She was previously praised by fans for her honesty around breastfeeding. Millie opened up to fans about her struggles after she was suffering with severe mastitis.
The condition causes inflammation and can lead to an infection of breast tissue. Millie said every time she tried to feed her daughter she was left "crying in pain".
