Man swallows banana wrapped in condom in 'fit of rage' before doctors dig it out

A man had to be rushed to hospital after he swallowed an entire banana in a condom while angry.

The unnamed victim had gulped the fruity contraceptive whole during what he claimed was a fit of rage.

The 34-year-old began vomiting and complained of stomach pains when he was rushed to hospital last year.

Doctors performed a CT scan where they found the slippery fruit, which had started to discolour and turn to mush, lodged in his small intestine.

The patient had reportedly been unable to go to the loo for 24 hours as the fruit had been blocking his bowel.

The man was then rushed to surgery, where doctors safely removed the banana.

Photos show the brown mushy filled condom beside the surgical scissors used to fish it out.

The man rested in hospital for three days before he was discharged.

It is believed to be the first case of an individual swallowing a banana in a condom.

This appeared in the Cureus Journal of Medical Science by radiologists Rosarie Tudas, Karan Rao, Yashant Aswani and surgeon Luis J. Garcia from the University of Iowa.

News of the bizarre injury comes just days after a dancer who suffered 'serious injuries' after being crushed by a mechanical tree while on a film set sued for over £300,000 compensation.

Keira Johnson had been filming an advert in Poland in September 2022 when she sustained back injuries after a tree mounted on a mechanical stump fell on her.

And last year it emerged that a teenage boy had required surgery after getting a USB cable stuck inside his penis.

The 15-year-old boy from the UK was attempting to measure the inside of his penis with the cable as a form of “sexual experimentation” when it knotted and he became unable to remove it.

With knots and tangles formed in the cable, the boy began to experience blood in his urine and was taken to hospital by his mother.

Unsurprisingly, the boy waited for his mum to leave the room before confessing to hospital staff that he had deliberately inserted the cable rather than use a ruler.
