KSI reacts to Jake Paul and Tommy Fury after grudge fight finally announced
KSI has reiterated his plan to fight Tommy Fury if the Brit can overcome Jake Paul in the pair's grudge fight next month in Saudi Arabia.
The Love Island star has indicated that Paul is the only YouTuber he wants to fight, and plans to return to his traditional boxing career once the bout in Riyadh is over. But KSI believes that he will be facing the winner of the bout, and not necessarily Paul if he can't pick up the victory.
Paul and KSI have had a rivalry since the beginning of 2018 when the rapper called him out after the original YouTube boxing event where he defeated Joe Weller in the main event. KSI ended up fighting his older brother Logan, while Jake pursued a career in the professional ranks.
"Obviously a lot of people want me to comment on Fury vs Jake Paul," KSI said during an Instagram live stream just after the announcement. "I'll watch it, I'm going to be watching, keeping a close eye, seeing if Jake is improved or seeing what he's going to do, seeing what he does. I want to see if Jake wins. If Tommy wins, I'm going to be fighting Tommy, simple as that."
The Brit said similar during a recent Twitter space with fans, indicating that the hype for his bout with Paul would be dampened if his rival were to lose. They have been feuding for years, but coronavirus restrictions cost them a 2020 meeting and in the time when KSI gave up the sport to pursue music, Paul pulled away in terms of experience, fighting five times before his comeback last summer.
Love Island's Haris spills on unaired row between Zara and Tanyel"At that point I'd probably have to fight Tommy Fury instead of Jake," KSI responded when asked what would happen if Paul loses. "If Tommy beats Jake then I don't think that's the money fight any more. For me it's always about being the best, I have a goal of fighting three fights this year and I'd have to do more than I said I would do [to fight both].

"I'm a busy guy, there's only so much I can do. People forget that boxing isn't everything, I've got Sidemen stuff, uploads on my YouTube channel, I've still got to release music, do tours and festivals etc so for me the goal is fighting the best at the end of the year and if it's Tommy or if it's Jake we get it cracking. That's why I always say it's all on the line, every fight is dangerous."
However, Fury doesn't seem so keen insisting that he will return to his pursuit of a world title once he is done with Paul regardless of the result. Whilst speaking with Rob Moore, Fury said: "I made it very clear when all of this stuff started going on with Jake Paul that he is the only [YouTuber] I would ever fight.
"I want to fight legitimate fighters, win titles and go down in history by having my name remembered. Fighting Jake Paul doesn't do that, he's a man who thinks he can make some money from boxing and see what happens."
