Salem's Lot actor Lance Kerwin dies aged 62 as co-stars pay tribute
Actor Lance Kerwin has passed away at the age of 62, his family has announced.
The star, who starred in TV series James at 15 and Stephen King mini-series Salem’s Lot, passed at in California on Tuesday according to reports in America.
"Actor Lance Kerwin's daughter Savanah has announced on FB that he died yesterday," one fan wrote on Twitter on Wednesday when paying tribute.
"It hasn't hit mainstream press yet, and I usually wait for that confirmation (so many hoaxes) but I figure his daughter is a reliable source. This is very sad news. Mr Kerwin was 62."
One of Kerwin's co-stars Ike Eisenmann also paid tribute online, writing: "I am beyond heartbroken to hear of the passing of one of my greatest friends and co-stars I have ever worked with, Lance Kerwin.

The Star Trek and Witch Mountain actor shared a snap of himself and Kerwin as young stars alongside his tribute.
Actress Erin Murphy also penned a tribute on social media, writing: "Tough start to the year. Rest In Peace #LanceKerwin."
And horror outlet Fangoria opened up on its sadness at hearing the near, writing: " Fango is saddened to hear of the passing of Lance Kerwin, whose performance in ‘SALEM’S LOT made an indelible impression on all of us."
The outlet added: "Our thoughts and condolences go out to his friends, family and many fans."
Kerwin's role in James at 15 only lasted for two seasons but turned him into a teenager heartthrob and saw him work on more projects over the years.
In a 2019 interview, the late actor talked about working with Tobe Hopper on Stephen King's Salem’s Lot.
“One scene that was pretty interesting was the bedroom scene when the vampire boy, I think it was Danny Glick, comes to the window saying, ‘Let me in. Let me in.'," he recalled.
He continued: "For that entire scene, the film was running backward in the camera. We started at the end and walked backward all the way to the beginning where I’m in bed and I open my eyes.
"That’s the reason it seems like there’s something different…something weird about it. The smoke is flowing differently because of the way that scene was shot."
