Owen Warner meeting his ex on Love Island would be amazing, says campmate
Scarlette Douglas has said that her former I'm A Celebrity campmate Owen Warner joining his ex-girlfriend Lana Jenkins in the Love Island villa would make "great TV".
The presenter, 35, has revealed that she isn't watching the new series of the ITV2 show but would tune in if her former co-star Owen, 23, headed into the villa in South Africa.
It comes after islander Lana, 25 - who is currently in the villa - announced that actor Owen is her ex-boyfriend. The makeup artist said that they had dated during lockdown.
Discussing the situation, Scarlette told us: "I don't watch Love Island but obviously being in I'm A Celebrity with Owen, I remember him talking to me about his ex."
The presenter - who's part of a campaign to help "banish the winter blues" with easyJet Holidays - said a friend had told her that his ex-girlfriend was in the villa at the moment.
Sue Cleaver feels 'more empowered' as she labels her 50s her 'happiest decade'She further commented: "I guess he's kind of told me the inside gossip, right? I haven't been watching but now I want to watch it and see what she's like on there."
Asked if she thinks fans could see Owen join Love Island as a late arrival, she responded: "Do you reckon they could do that? Oh my gosh, if they did that, that would be amazing."
"I dunno if he'd do it," Scarlette said, before questioning: "Because he's already [done] the jungle, do you think they would then take him straight into [the villa]?"
Teasing that it would get her to watch Love Island, she said: "I mean that would be great television, wouldn't it? That would be great TV. I'd be there with my popcorn".
She further said about the idea: "I don't know if he would do it but if they ever did that though that would be very interesting. Could you imagine everyone's faces?".
Asked how she thinks Owen will feel about Lana being on the show, and being mentioned, she said: "[He's] an amazing person so I'm sure for him he will just be supporting her from afar."
Scarlette said that he's the type of person who believes you learn from relationships and grow from them, with her adding: "He's always wished her the best."
She continued in our interview: "So I'm sure wherever he is now he'll probably be wishing her the best in there anyway. [...] He is the loveliest guy you'll ever meet."
Asked if she would consider being a late arrival in the villa herself, she said: "No, I don't think I could do Love Island." Scarlette cited the "pressure" of the experience as a factor.
She added: "I think after my last relationship, I need to be a lot more private about my love life now. [...] I think I have to be a little bit better at keeping my private life private."
