A woman has died after she was found unconscious in a tent at a popular techno music festival.

Authorities were alerted at about 6.10pm on Sunday at the Houghton Festival in Norfolk.

Police and paramedics were called to the scene after the woman was reportedly found unconscious in her tent.

Despite the best efforts of the emergency services, she was sadly pronounced dead.

The death is currently being treated as unexplained, cops have said, but it is not thought to be suspicious.

Enquiries are continuing and the woman’s next of kin have been informed.

A spokesperson for Houghton Festival said: “We are deeply saddened to confirm that a person has passed away at Houghton 2026.

“Our thoughts are entirely with their family and loved ones at this difficult time.

“We are grateful to our onsite medical team, event response team and Norfolk Constabulary, who all responded immediately.

“We continue to work closely with the relevant authorities to support in any way we can with their investigations.”
