Minutes before 11 a.m. on August 10, a truck caught fire in the yard of a military plant in the village of Belitsa near the town of Tryavna while delivering fuel.

The explosion was an accident, the owner of the plant told BNR program "Horizont". The fire burned down one of the ammunition warehouses in the yard of the plant. There are no reports of casualties or injured people.

About 300 people have been evacuated, Regional Governor of Gabrovo, Kristina Sidorova, announced. The settlements near the plant are being evacuated as a precaution, Interior Minister Ivan Demerdzhiev announced in Plovdiv, BTA reports. Firefighters and police teams are on site.

It is also expected to become clear whether there is air pollution due to the clouds of smoke. Residents of Tryavna and surrounding villages are advised to close the windows of their homes, use protective masks, and not go outdoors.
