An international manhunt is underway for a woman with a snake tattoo who has identified as the prime suspect in the attempted assassination of a Ukrainian oligarch in Monaco.

Anastasiia Berezovska, a 39-year-old woman from Ukraine, has been identified as the suspect in a Red Notice posted by Interpol.

A Monaco prosecutor said they are hunting for a woman disguised as a man who left a backpack bomb on the doorstep of Ukrainian tycoon Vadym Yermolaiev, leaving him and a woman in critical condition, and a teenage boy seriously hurt.

After the attack the suspect fled into neighbouring France and has since been spotted in Germany, according to the Reuters news agency.

The bomb blast was believed to be a targeted assassination attempt on Ukrainian tycoon Yermolaiev.

The 58-year-old billionaire, 58, a woman Anna Nasobina, 46, who has been described as his ’mistress’ and their young son were all injured in the attack on Monday night.

Anna was left in critical condition following the attack and has had to have her legs amputated after being caught in the blast from the shrapnel-filled booby trap.

Berezovska has been identified as a Ukrainian citizen living in Germany and given the complexity of the explosive device, police are looking into identifying possible accomplices and others who may have ordered the attack, Monaco deputy prosecutor Morgan Raymond said.

Two men who were arrested and held in police custody on Wednesday and Thursday were released as no evidence of their participation in the attack was found.

The suspect behind explosion in Monaco is thought to be an ‘armed and dangerous’ woman.

A photograph shows the suspect fleeing the scene whilst wearing a black bucket hat, prompting police to launch a large-scale manhunt.

It is feared that she may have fled the country and crossed the border after being seen racing to the town of Beausoleil on foot.

Monaco’s prosecutor general Stéphane Thibault said a suspect placed a “parcel bomb” inside the lobby of a building on Rue du Révérend Père Louis Frolla.

Prosecutors said the backpack bomb contained bolts and buckshot.

The Monegasque government said the area was cordoned off and the six other unoccupied flats inside the building were secured.
