Talking parrot helps police expose drug gang
A talking parrot has helped British police uncover a drug-dealing gang.
According to reports, while searching the phone of Shannon Hilton — girlfriend of drug dealer Adam Garnett, who was sentenced to 15 years in prison — officers came across a video featuring a parrot. In the clip, the pet parrot Mango repeated after its owner the phrase “two for 25.”
In dealer slang, this meant that two portions of cocaine cost £25. Another video showed the bird playing with money earned from drug sales.

During the further investigation, police discovered that Hilton and three others were Garnett’s deputies in the gang, which he continued to run from prison. The gang leader received an additional 19.5-year sentence, while his girlfriend was sentenced to 12 years. In total, 15 members of the gang were handed more than 100 years in prison.
