Rhian Sugden is set to undergo surgery in hospital to have a 'suspicious' birthmark removed from her skin.

The glamour model, 36, took to Instagram on Friday to share a photo of herself in her hospital bed ahead of the procedure.

The blonde beauty told her followers that once the suspicious mark from her skin is removed, she will be left with 12 stitches.

Sharing the post from her bed, Rhian confessed that she was feeling incredibly nervous before going under the knife, but felt it important to share her story in a bid to encourage others with similar skin issues to get themselves checked out by a medical professional.

"Holy Moley. My consultant has flagged up that a birthmark on my leg looks very suspicious and has got me in today to have it cut out. It's quite big too, so I'm nervous," Rhian penned alongside the snap.

"Need up to 12 stitches. Always make sure you keep an eye on changing birthmarks and moles. If they look dodgy has hell, get them whipped off. Better to be safe than sorry," she added.

Last month, Rhian shared an update on her skin issues after she spent a weekend in hospital as she prepared to have two 'suspicious looking' moles removed from her abdomen.

At the time, model and former Celebrity Big Brother contestant told fans the news on Instagram.

Alongside another snap of herself in a hospital gown, Rhian penned: "Not so glamorous today! I’m getting some suspicious-looking freckles/moles removed this morning. Wish me luck for a normal result."

Rhian and her husband Oliver Mellor said earlier this year they are desperate to start a family and they have turned to IVF in a bid to finally conceive.

The couple were dealt the devastating news at the beginning of last year that their second attempt of IVF hadn't worked.

"After getting so far on our second round it was really heartbreaking to find out it hadn’t worked. It broke me," she told The Sun.

"It ruined Christmas for us both and it has been really difficult to deal with - especially for me having all the hormones injected and placing all my hopes on one egg.

"Infertility is something that isn't really spoken about, and is something men and women shouldn't be ashamed of."
