Moment daredevil parkour misses high rise building roof and falls - but survives
Heartstopping footage reveals the moment a parkour youtuber missed his mark and falls from the top of an enormous high rise building.
The video is not advised for those with a fear of heights and is enough to make even the most hardened climbers' palms go sweaty.
In the clip the parkour runner can be seen hopping up onto a dizzyingly high ledge on the edge of a towerblock.
The first-person footage appears to have been shot with a head-mounted camera, giving the same queasy perspective that the runner themselves is seeing as the wind whips around them on their high vantage point.
A glance to the right shows a series of ‘zig zags’ where the roof ledge of the tower block swoops in and out over the stomach-churning drop.
Viral sausage roll debate leaves Brits confused about how to order at GreggsAs the runner limbers up and begins to run towards the first obstacle he can be seen to leap cleanly over the gap, landing safely on the other side.
The video was first uploaded to GoatWoW, a viral video community channel for 'the hottest videos from across the web' and has drawn comments from many incredulous viewers.
After a second leap over the following gap the parkour runner can be seen to stumble and some wires can be seen blocking their path ahead. The sight of the obstacle appears to put the runner off their stride causing them to stumble, catastrophically slipping from the edge of the tower block.
But what could have been a swift and untimely end is averted as the runner can be seen clinging for dear life to the wires - which turned out to be electricity cables.
Fortunately the daredevil also has a friend nearby to help pull them to safety and the runner can be seen regaining the top of the building and making it back to safety.
"I have a couple of burns on my stomach and hands. But I'm alive," the parkour runner said.
Gobsmacked commenters have had their say on the incredibly close call, with one saying: "Is anyone else impressed at how strong those wires are?
"I guess they both messed up his attempt and saved his life at the same time."
"As someone who also came close to falling to his death rock climbing, I understand that hysterical laughter at the end when you reach safety," another wrote.
Someone else commented: "He’s SO lucky his friends were there to save him. Imagine if he did this alone…"
