The mum of Britain's largest family has said she has been "stuck on the sofa" following seven of her 22 children being struck down by flu.

The Morecambe mum said children Katie, Aimee, Hallie, Phoebe, Archie, Max, Katie and Heidie aged 20, 16, seven, six, five, four and were all feeling unwell in their 10-bedroom former care-home Victorian property.

Sue, 47, said her children go the "awful flu cold that was going around" and was hoping they "start to feel better quickly" after a round of antibiotics.

In an Instagram story post, Sue wrote: "Been stuck on the sofa today with portly little people. We've got Hallie, Phoebe, Archie, Max, Aimee, Katie and Heidie all poorly with this awful flu sold that's going around.

"They are now on antibiotics so hoping they start to feel better quickly. Hope you're all well."

Sue and her husband Noel have been married for 30 years and are the stars of the Channel 5 TV show 22 Kids and Counting. Their children's ages range from oldest Chris, 32, down to Heide, two.

More recently, a small argument arose on the show over Sue buying a campervan without telling Noel.

"I'm the boss of the house," she said.

Noel said: "They have to put up with my decision." Sue was quick to hit back: "Noel likes to think he’s got the power, but I’m the one with the power in this house, definitely."

Famous across the country, the family documents their life for over 500,000 followers on Instagram.

Recently, the family's matriarch said they were planning on doing a "no spend January" after another hugely expensive Christmas period.

Sue said the festive season has set the pie shop owners back as much as £7,000 on presents alone in recent years.

The challenge for Sue is to avoid any unnecessary purchases to try and recover from a slightly lighter bank account after Christmas.

Recent spending for the family included an "elf breakfast", an ornately decorated Christmas tree and a trip to New York.

Noel gave her a new £30,000 Land Rover for her 46th birthday in March 2021.

The post's caption added detail about the family's New year's resolutions, including the no-spend idea.

It read: "And to care less about what other people think about us because as long as we are happy nothing else matters.

"And to do no-spend January, which funnily enough, everyone thinks is hilarious."

Not all of the Radford family updates are positive and the social media accounts run by Sue and Noel share all sorts of ups and downs the family goes through.

In December, she revealed her grandson, the son of her daughter Millie had been diagnosed with Strep A. There have so far been 190 deaths from the infection in all age groups in England this flu season.

Sue blasted the care her grandson, Chester, received as it was dismissed as conjunctivitis before blood began pouring from his nose.
