William honors King Charles with a moving Father’s Day tribute
The Prince and Princess of Wales have shared a touching tribute to the King to mark Father’s day.
William and Kate posted on X a picture of the Prince as a child with his dad, the now-King Charles III.
Meanwhile, Buckingham Palace released its own tribute to the nation’s fathers, featuring historic footage from the British Film Institute’s National Archive.
The black-and-white compilation features clips of King Charles III as a baby with his father Prince Philip, accompanied by the caption: ‘Wishing all Dads, and those who may be missing their parents today, a relaxing Father’s Day.’
The King’s birthday yesterday was marked by Trooping of the Colour outside Buckingham Palace.
With the Princess of Wales in attendance, this itself marked the first time Kate Middleton has returned to public duties since her shock cancer diagnosis was announced last year.
In a recent statement on her condition, the Princess has said: ‘I am making good progress, but as anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days.
‘On the good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of feeling well.’
Yesterday would indeed appear to have been one of the Princess’s good days, with a body language expert exclusively unpacking for Metro the physical signs of the future Queen’s support from her children.
Wishing all Dads, and those who may be missing their parents today, a relaxing Father’s Day.

Later the same year this photo was taken, William’s younger brother Harry was born. It comes after the Princess of Wales yesterday made her first public appearance since her shock cancer diagnosis earlier this year.
Both Kate Middleton and King Charles, who is also currently battling the disease, have expressed their gratitude to the public for the ongoing support they’ve received after going public with their illnesses.
Kate has said she is ‘blown away’ by the ‘kind messages’, which she adds has made ‘a world of difference to William and me and has helped us both through some of the harder times.’
