Quavers superfan overjoyed as local Sainsbury's crowns him with dubious honour
A crisp-loving man is celebrating after his local Sainsbury’s crowned him the biggest fan of Quavers for the second year running.
Proud Lee Wakefield was alerted of his achievement via the app after a busy twelve months munching on the crisps.
He shared his accolade on Twitter, writing: "Very proud to defend my title as the #1 buyer of Quavers at the big Sainsbury’s.
“To scoop the award once is an achievement but to do the double is unprecedented. It’s another proud day for me and my family."
Lee said: "It’s a huge honour to scoop the award for a second time, although maybe a wake up call too.
Apple TV release MLS Season Pass worldwide and announce free opening weekend“I’m not sure about the amount I’ve bought and I think it’s probably best I don’t know to be honest. Either way, I’m here if Walkers want to get in touch.
“Big up the Quavers crew."
In January 2022, Lee posted his award on Twitter writing: "I haven’t prepared a speech but overwhelmed to receive this award as the #1 buyer of Quavers at the big Sainsbury’s in Dalston.
“It’s a real honour. I’m very open to brand deals @walkers_crisps."
My London reports: “Lee achieved further success when the official Walkers Crisps account responded to the post writing: "Hard graft pays off, nothing but respect for those numbers".
Lee's news clearly brightened up his followers day with one replying: "This is insane and I love it.”
Another exclaimed: "Two years running?!" Others were keen to see the breakdown of numbers: "Going to need some stats here. How many bags were purchased? Want to know if you absolutely swept away the competition".
Someone else responded: "Legend, love it" and another joked: "I understand if you win it three times you get to keep Gary Lineker."
