Kate tonight revealed she has been diagnosed with cancer following her abdominal surgery in January. In a video message she also thanked the British public for their "wonderful messages of support and for your understanding whilst I have been recovering from surgery.”
And William, on hearing the news, pulled out of a memorial service for his godfather King Constantine of Greece at Windsor Castle on February 27. He had been expected to give a reading but let the Greek royal family know he would not be able to attend.
Meanwhile, King Charles has said that he is "so proud" of the Princess of Wales for her strength in going public with her shock cancer diagnosis. Buckingham Palace released a message on behalf of the King, who is also receiving cancer treatment, saying: “His Majesty is ‘so proud of Catherine for her courage in speaking as she did’.
"Following their time in hospital together, HM has ‘remained in the closest contact with his beloved daughter-in-law throughout the past weeks.’ Both Their Majesties ‘will continue to offer their love and support to the whole family through this difficult time’.”
