Louis Walsh stunned his younger Celebrity Big Brother contestants with a bit of sex talk.

The 71-year-old former X Factor judge was joined by 65-year-old businessman Levi Roots and younger stars Nikita Kuzmin, 26, of Strictly Come Dancing fame and 25-year-old Coronation Street star Colson Smith for a task. The four men were challenged to host a podcast in the Celebrity Big Brother house - where they discussed topics including war and national service while the other housemates watched the conversations on the TV screen.

But as the challenge came to an end, Colson challenged his fellow podcasters to a round of ‘the generation game’ where he asked Louis and Levi to discuss terms that younger people use. But Louis wanted to get involved in the quiz himself and had a term he used that he guessed the younger stars wouldn’t be aware of.

Colson began to shut down the show, saying: “Well, that has been Generation -“ But Louis cut in to say: “One more!” Colson asked: “Oh, he’s got one more?” And Louis said: “A bit of ‘how’s your father’.” His statement left the younger Celebrity Big Brother housemates stumped.

In the main house 22-year-old actor Bradley Riches was completely baffled and asked 66-year-old Fern Britton: “Is it ‘How is your dad doing?’” But she explained: “Sex! Having a bit of how’s your father. It means sex.”

In the podcast room, Colson was also confused. He said: “I’m stumped here. Enlighten me.” And Louis confirmed: “It means sex.” Colson and Nikita both exclaimed: “What?!” In shock. Louis repeated the term: “How’s your father.” Colson then signed off saying: Well, on that abrupt note, I think it’s the perfect time to end.”

Viewers watching along were stunned that the young housemates hadn't heard the term before. One viewer exclaimed on X: "How the f**k do they not know what how's your father means? #cbbuk." Another laughed: "'A bit of how's your father'? Louis just turned this into Carry On Big Brother. Sakes."

Another typed: "Strange way to end a pod cast... Louis shouting out 'how's your father' And colson and Nikita looking totally confused lol." And another exclaimed: "#CBBUK There's no way that someone wouldn't know what "A bit of how's your father" is."

But some viewers were also baffled by the expression, with one writing: "How/why does “how’s your father?” mean sex?! #CBBUK." And another wrote: “'Having a bit of how’s your father' means having sex?! British culture is weird loooool #CBBUK."

During the podcast, Louis and Levi were tasked with trying to understand terms that they thought younger people would use. Colson asked: "Can you tell me what these words mean, Louis. What does 'ghosting' mean?" Louis suggested: "Ghosting means pretending to be something you're not." But he was told he was wrong.

Colson then asked: "What is a glow-up, Levi?" And the Reggae Reggae Sauce businessman asked: "A glow up? I have no idea," and Nikita told him it meant: "Looking better than what you looked before," and Colson said: "A positive transformation."

Celebrity Big Brother airs via ITV1 and ITVX nightly at 9pm.
