Prince Harry delighted with 'rock star' welcome after William's 'dreary' speech

Prince Harry and his brother Prince William may be worlds apart when it comes to their relationship, and now it appears their aura is too after the pair's recent appearance at the Diana Legacy Awards.

While William appeared in person, giving a very formal speech to the crowd and winners, Harry has been dubbed as being like a "rock star" as his much more informal vibes were greeted with big cheers.

The duo avoided an awkward reunion by not only avoiding each other in person, but also conducting their speeches hours apart. William took to the stage in London, while Harry appeared via video link from his home in Montecito.

Body language expert Judi James has revealed to the Mirror the stark differences between the pair at the event, saying: "While William appeared on stage behind a lectern and dressed like James Bond to deliver his speech, Harry popped up on screen like a rock star, dressed in a casual denim open-neck shirt."

Describing Harry's persona, Judi continued: "Harry’s facial signals showed utter delight at the fan-club style welcome he received from his young audience. With his cheeks raised and rounded he performed a wide grin and of course did a little show-boating as he used a two-handed beckoning gesture to encourage the noisy applause, saying ‘Go for it!’. The message projected suggested that had he been at the event live he would have brought the house down.

"His approach was casual and very playful although he switched to a more serious note as he sucked his lips in and used a praying hands gesture of apology for not being there in person."

She added the important element Harry added to gain the crowd's attention. "Harry turned into listening mode first, leaning forward on folded arms to ask the small audience questions and then shared some motivational words with some body rocking and lip-licking as he threw his hands about for emphasis, telling them ‘My mum would be incredibly proud. I’m incredibly proud.’"

During his speech, William paid tribute to the "courage, compassion and commitment" of his late mother Princess Diana. Addressing the 20 winners in a speech at the ceremony, he explained they were, chosen by a special panel of judges chaired by Baroness Doreen Lawrence and reflected on "my mother’s belief that young people can change the world".

Harry meanwhile later told the group he thinks the work they are doing is "amazing" before saying the world's future "depends on some of you". He gushed: "The impact that you're having on hundreds, thousands, millions of people, without you guys doing that and without you inspiring other young people to do the same thing because it feels good, because it's the right thing to do, but you also get so much from it, that inspiration is like this ripple effect that goes across the water."

He also echoed William's comments about his mother, adding she would be "incredibly proud" of the work the group was doing and praised them for "protecting his mother's legacy".
