Married At First Sight star rushed to hospital for emergency surgery
A Married At First Sight star was forced to abandon filming and rushed to hospital for emergency surgery.
Lauren Dunn had to leave her husband Jono for a while after she developed a blood clot in her shoulder. The MAFS Australia contestant had to leave the Sky Suites and pack her bags after doctors discovered the clot.
The PR and marketing consultant had to fly back to Perth for an operation. The MAFS Australia star was getting on well with her husband Jonathan McCullough who said he would "miss her and her energy" as she left for a while. She has since opened up about the medical issue and said it "wasn't caused by anything".
She told 9Entertainment that the blood clots "could've been there for 20 years". Lauren said: "I woke up and the whole side of my body was numb and really purple. I said, 'Something is not right'. I rang Jono – who was at the gym – and he told me to go to the doctor."
Lauren was told by doctors that she needed emergency surgery so she had to leave straight away. Despite the situation being worrying, she said it actually brought her closer to her husband, noting: "Jono was so good. He packed me an overnight bag with all my things, my head phones, all my skincare – he was so so good." Jono was unable to join his wife for the surgery as Lauren said there wasn't even a chair for him to sit in.
Baby boy has spent his life in hospital as doctors are 'scared' to discharge himLauren has been recovering in the comfort of her own home but has not fully withdrawn from the experiment. She said: "The thought of recovering at Skye Suites while I was in so much pain, it was definitely nice to have my home comforts."
