Lorraine praised for handling of 'tough' interview with noughties chart-topper
Lorraine Kelly has been praised by viewers following an interview with a noughties chart-topper this morning which was described as "hard work" and "difficult".
The presenter, 64, fronted her eponymous ITV talk show on Thursday. Among the guests was singer-songwriter Norah Jones, 44 - whose debut album, Come Away with Me, topped the charts in the UK and other countries in 2002.
The BRIT Award winner - best known for songs like Don't Know Why - promoted her new album Visions whilst on the show earlier. She also spoke about her plans to tour and her "side hobby" of pottery during the recent interview.
It's been suggested by viewers that Norah gave "short" answers to questions from Lorraine, with the interview having been described as "tough" and "hard work". Fans shared their thoughts on X, formerly known as Twitter.
One person said: "Poor Lorraine. That was a tough interview with [Norah] and her 2 word answers!" Someone else wrote: "Lorraine fighting for her life there trying to get Norah to talk." A third said the guest had been "difficult to interview".

[Norah giving] one word answers and short sentences comes across like she does not even want to be really interviewed."
Someone said: "Embarrassingly hard work for [Lorraine] interviewing [Norah] But like the pro she is Lorraine managed to stretch it out." One fan wrote: "Lorraine, you tried your best." Another person said Norah's "very laid back".
"God I feel for [Lorraine], not sure Norah Jones is a morning person, although she perked up talking about pottery. Well done for persevering Lorraine," another viewer tweeted. One person said: "Don't think Norah wants to be there."
During the interview, Lorraine suggested that Norah's new album offers "uplifting music". The guest replied: "I mean, there's some darkness on it too." She added: "It's not a party record but yeah it's... it's got some good stuff on it."

Norah interrupted to clarify that it's been 22 years, before responding to the idea that her songs "mean a lot to people" by saying: "It's nice, yeah."
And discussing going on tour, Lorraine asked if she is able to take her two children. She asked: "Can you take the kids with you or do you kind of separate work and family?" Norah responded: "No, I do both. I try to do a lot in the summer so that they can come out more."
There was also a discussion about her music having featured in TV shows like Breaking Bad and films. After being asked what it's like to watch something and hear herself, Norah said: "Well you usually know because you have to give approval but yeah it was cool."
Later in the interview, it was suggested that Norah had found a "balance" between work and her personal life. Asked if it was "difficult" to achieve, she said: "I don't know if it was a big decision. I think it was just sort of...
"There were two paths early on whenever things got crazy with my first record and I was just like 'this is uneasy' and I think I realised if I just focus on the part that I know, is the music, and I'm good at, and focus on making sure I'm always happy with what I'm doing musically, then I'll be okay and that's kind of what I did."
