WWE icon Kevin Nash has caused concern by making comments regarding his late son.

The former WWE champion’s son Tristen was just 26 when he died after suffering a cardiac arrest. It is alleged to have been triggered by a seizure as a result of alcohol withdrawal syndrome.

Over 12 weeks since his passing, Nash shared his thoughts on his "Kliq This" podcast this week, and concerns were raised by the WWE legend. "Today is week 12 that I lost my boy,” he began. “Time flies when you got a gun in your mouth. I mean, time flies when you're having fun."

Nash's co-host, Sean Oliver, was quick to reply: "Don't play like that. You have guns, so you can't say those things." But the 63-year-old reinforced his statement, saying: "I can do whatever the f*** I wanna do. Long as I leave a note."

As the conversation continued, the two-time WWE Hall of Famer explained how he had been struggling to cope since losing his beloved son. "Every morning when I wake up, the first thing that happens is I come to the realisation that instead of there being three human beings in my home, there's now two," Nash continued.

"And the third person isn't on vacation or staying with friends or is out late. He is never coming back. And then I sit up in the bed and I have absolutely nothing I have to do, and it's like, 'So, why am I getting out of bed?'" The father-and-son duo quit alcohol "cold turkey" days before Tristen's passing, Nash added.

"Alcohol is the nastiest … it's a nasty drug," he said a week after his son died. "Anybody out there, if you haven't drank, you've probably done yourself an incredible service. If you do drink, and you're having problems and know it's affecting your life and you know it's affecting your health, you can't see the damage it's doing."

Oliver later explained to OutKick why the comments were left in the podcast. "It was Kev’s choice to go through this in real time [the podcast comments] with his audience and extreme emotions are bound to surface with such a situation [dealing with Tristen’s passing]," he said. Tristen was Nash’s only child and he was a solo musician, poet and an actor.

Nash was an integral part of the 90s wrestling era as he left WWE for arch-rivals World Championship Wrestling and was part of the famed NWO faction, which included Hulk Hogan and the late Scott Hall.

Nash is perhaps best known for his time in the now defunct company, where he won the WCW World Title five times and ended Goldberg's famous undefeated streak.
