Strictly Come Dancing star swaps dance floor for brothel in new documentary
Stacey Dooley has dipped back into the world of sex work for her latest eyebrow raising documentary.
The 37-year-old investigative journalist has a long history of exploring hot topics and controversial careers to form the basis of her documentary shows. The star - who has been dating 41-year-old former Strictly Come Dancing professional Kevin Clifton and shares a one-year-old daughter named Minnie with him - is currently staring in the latest season of her show Stacey Dooley Sleeps Over USA.
In an upcoming episode, Stacey spends a night at a brothel in Nevada, near the city of Reno, where she overhears a chorus of sex workers in the midst of their night of work. Stacey is shown mingling with the employees at the Mustang Ranch in the American desert state.
The brothel itself is currently owned by businessman Lance Gilman and first opened 1971 as the first licensed brothel in the state. Stacey has been promoting her new season and is excited to take viewers inside the infamous sex house. She has shared an image of the exterior of the establishment on her Instagram page alongside a captions simply stating: “YOU’RE WELCOME!”

The state Stacey is tasked with sharing a room with two sex workers. She is quoted stating: “The sole purpose of this room is to service the client. I’ve got girls either side of me, that’s the only thing. I should’ve bought some earplugs.”

She also notes: “You could hear everything! Missy was right next door and she was such a sweetheart. She had one night where she had one after the other, and I was like, ‘Oh my god, this girl must be absolutely exhausted.”
Fans are already enticed over Stacey’s upcoming new episode, with one writing in response to her Instagram post: “This will be interesting.” And another typed: “Can’t wait for this.”
Stacey will also be staying with American families while enjoying sleep overs across the country. She shared another clip of herself and some documentary subjects enjoying a horse ride together. She wrote alongside the Instagram video post: “I’m SO excited for you to see the families we found this series. One of my fave fave gigs is Sleepsover. Hope you enjoy!”
Stacey has previously delved into the world of sex work in past documentaries. Her past documentary series, Sex in Strange Places - which aired via the BBC in 2016 - saw her travel to Turkey, Brazil and Russia to explore differences in attitudes towards sex and prostitution.
Stacey Dooley Sleeps Over USA was confirmed for a second season last year - with show bosses expressing excitement over the fact the TV star would be heading back across the Atlantic to find new homes to stay in. Emile Nawagamuwa, Commissioning Executive at UKTV, declared following the announcement of the second season: "It's fantastic to see Stacey head back to the US for more sleepovers. Now more than ever families are playing by their own rules and seeing the US, so familiar yet so different, through Stacey's eyes is an incredibly compelling proposition."
