Love Island All Stars couple split weeks after leaving villa in surprise update
Love Island: All Stars couple Arabella Chi and Adam Maxted have thrown in the towel - just weeks after exiting the villa.
The duo were contestants on the ITV2 show earlier this year as a host of former contestants returned to the Love Island villa in the hopes of falling in love with a fellow former contestants. Fans of the reality show will recall that 32-year-old Arabella was originally a contestant on the show during season five in 2019, while 31-year-old Adam, was a star on the show during season two in 2016.
During their time in the All Stars villa, Arabella and Adam coupled up late in the show as he arrived on day 26 - ten days before the grand finale. The pair felt attacked by fellow contestants during tasks as they were often regarded as the least believable couple - but they defiantly stayed together during their time in the house.
Fans had hoped that romance would blossom for them when they were dumped from the villa in a shock twist on day 35 - two days before the final - as all the other contestants voted them out. But now the relationship appears to have completely fizzled out and is said to be over.
A source told The Sun: “They genuinely tried to make it work but every time they arranged to meet up, work got in the way. They're going to stay friends.” The Mirror has contacted both Arabella and Adam’s representatives for comment.
Corrie's Sue Cleaver says I'm A Celebrity stint helped her to push boundariesThe source comment comes after fans began to fear the romance between Arabella and Adam was already doomed. Both have been active on social media, but followers noted that neither was featuring in the others’ social posts. On Instagram, Arabella’s posts have been flooded with messages of concern.
One follower remarked on one posting: “Where's Adam?” While another asked: “Where's your beau?” Another typed: “Are you with Adam still?” While a further fan expressed their worst fears, writing: “Are you and Adam over?”
Arabella had previously defended her romance with Adam and rejected the idea their relationship was a sham. Both she and Adam sounded hurt that they were dumped from the island by their fellow contestants who had voted them as the weakest couple in the shadow of the finale.
Arabella told ITV’s The Morning After podcast: “It was a savage dumping from previous Islanders, [Adam] didn't spend a lot of time with them especially with people coming in and out, they were not very good valid reasons. I'll be honest a couple of them - Hannah and Joanna - took me by surprise.
“I had built very good friendships with them, if they were my genuine friends surely they would be happy that I had found the guy I had been waiting for.” And Adam added at the time: “We know we had a stronger connection than some of the other Islanders in there.”
