Celebrity Big Brother star Sharon Osbourne backed her pal Louis Walsh amid him facing eviction on Tuesday night.

The star left the show on Tuesday night live on air, before sitting down with hosts Will Best and AJ Odudu for her exit interview. Sharon was only ever meant to be on the show temporarily as a lodger, and was not ever going to be evicted.

There was some confusion over her stint on the series, as it had been reported she would be in the house for a few days, only for her to stay for half of the series. As Sharon shared her thoughts on her housemates on Tuesday night, Sharon was asked about her pal Louis and the reasons he was nominated - amid him sparking fury over his comments aimed at singers Jedward.

This week Louis has been called out by his housemates for not pulling his weight or doing any of the cooking or cleaning, or helping around the house. Host Will also brought this up to Sharon, adding her friend hadn't done anything.

While Sharon said she wasn't surprised to see Louis nominated, she did believe viewers would save him in the vote which they did. That said, Sharon defended Louis not doing much to help out, claiming that was the way he was.

She told the presenters: "Louis is Louis. That's Louis." Bringing up the fact Louis surprised housemates by not helping out, she said: "No way, he's got everybody doing everything for him."

On her decision not to save him from the vote she said: "I knew the public would keep him, my gut was telling me." She also said Louis was "hurt" by her not saving him, and that he hoped Fern Britton will take care of him in her absence.

It comes after reports earlier on Tuesday that Sharon would leave the show amid the second eviction of the series. “Tuesday will be Sharon's last day in the Celebrity Big Brother house," a source close to the show told MailOnline.

"She had made it clear from the beginning that she was only staying on the show for a short duration but she has certainly made an long-lasting impact. As always, family comes first and Sharon needs to be back with her husband Ozzy but she will be missed by her housemates, especially as they say goodbye to another celebrity during tonight's eviction."

Eagle-eyed fans tuning into Late & Live on Monday night had spotted a clue that her exit would air within days. As cameras panned live to the house without the stars knowing, we saw the line-up having a party.

There was popcorn, drinks and singing and dancing going on. While it could have been a party to celebrate the end of a task they are about to complete, some viewers questioned if it was actually Sharon's leaving party.

Taking to X, fans wondered if Monday night was Sharon's final night and if she will leave on Tuesday during the eviction, in scenes to be shown live or shown on Wednesday. One fan posted: "From the party going on, we can take it that they passed the 'You're Gonna Be a Star' task, or it might be Sharon's leaving do."

Another added: "party for Sharon's last night maybe?" It follows the first eviction of the series on Friday night, as Gary Goldsmith was booted out of the famous house. He had been nominated by Sharon earlier in the week, while Lauren soon joined him as a nominated housemate. The series is set to come to an end on Friday 22 March.
